Tyler Crowe
I'm a M3 medical student in the Carver College of Medicine (CCOM). I grew up nearby in Davenport before heading north to Luther College for undergrad and Iowa State University for my masters. After bouncing around the state, I joined Dermatology where I worked on collaborative projects for Dr. Kelly Messingham and Dr. Janet Fairley until returning to medical school. I completed a pre-M1 and M1 Summer Research Fellowships through the CCOM and have been accepted on the Research Distinction Track under the supervision of Dr. Messingham, where my project will evaluate the impact of Staphylococcus aureus colonization on T cell phenotype in Bullous pemphigoid patients. In what free time I have left, I love sampling the solid spread of local restaurants and working off those calories by running, cycling, and mountain biking on Iowa City's great variety of trails!
- My current projects explore the role of TCR Vß repertoire in the pathogenesis of autoimmunity if bullous pemphigoid and other autoimmune blistering diseases.
